
No. 36 Niners Cruise Past SMC 6-1

LONG BEACH--No. 36-ranked Long Beach State (6-4) rolled off their third straight victory, cruising past No. 48-ranked Saint Mary's (6-2), 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
No. 75-ranked Hannah Grady picked up her second-straight victory over a ranked opponent and third ranked win in the spring, following a 6-2, 6-2 win over No. 57-ranked Jessica Hoath at the No. 1 position.
The No. 52-ranked team of Grady and Stephanie Bengson made easy work of Hoath and Feline Charlot, winning 8-0. It was the No. 1 doubles team fifth straight victory.
No. 4 player Stephanie Jeanes was able to win 6-1, 6-3 over Marah Calvo, while Lisa Sutton rebounded at the No. 6 position to defeat Charlot, 6-1, 1-6, 6-0.
In doubles, the team of Lisa Armstrong and Sutton won 8-4 to clinch the doubles point.
The 49ers next host UC Davis (Friday) and UC Irvine (Saturday) next weekend.
