49ers Post 7-0 Sweep over Aztecs LONG BEACH— No. 37-ranked Long Beach State (3-3) cruised past No. 50-ranked San Diego State (3-2) 7-0 paced by Hannah Grady’s 6-0, 6-1 sweep over No. 61-ranked Julia Trunk and an 8-4 doubles win with partner Stephanie Bengson. The 49ers opened up play by sweeping doubles play, as Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton won 8-3, before Grady and Bengson and Stephanie Jeanes and Jessica Weeks closed out their sets, 8-4 and 8-1, respectively, at nearly the identical time. In singles play, five of six players won in straight sets, as Stephanie Bengson, playing for the first time this season at No. 2, defeated Holly Bagshaw 6-3, 6-0, before Deborah Armstrong picked up the win over Eliska Krausova in straight sets at No. 3. Jessica Weeks completed the sweep with a 7-6, 3-6, 10-5 win over Milana Yusupov went winning the first set 7-6, before losing the second set 6-3. She won the super tiebreaker 10-5.
