Long Beach State Wins Fourth Straight

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Donovan Morris scored 20 points and Long Beach State used a barrage of late 3-pointers to pull away from Pepperdine 80-61 on Wednesday.
Casper Ware had 15 points and Greg Plater added 12 points - all on 3s - to help the 49ers (4-2) win their fourth straight game.
Long Beach hit nine of its 12 3-pointers in the second half, converting on four straight to grab its largest lead of the game, 77-57, with 3:12 remaining.
The Waves (1-6) led in the opening moments of the game, but Long Beach scored on eight consecutive possessions in the first half to take a 19-9 lead. The 49ers led 36-28 at halftime.
Denis Agre and Dane Suttle Jr. each had 11 points for Pepperdine.
