49ers Fall 7-0 at No. 8-ranked USC LOS ANGELES-- No. 38-ranked Long Beach State (1-2) dropped a 7-0 decision at No. 8-ranked USC (3-0) on Wednesday afternoon in a match that was re-started due to rain last week in Southern California. It was the Women of Troy's second straight 7-0 win of the season. The 49ers, who had led the Women of Troy in two of their rain shortened singles matches last week, could not pick up a set on Wednesday losing in straight sets in all six singles matches. The 49ers were able to pick up one win in doubles play as the No. 2 team of Stephanie Jeanes and Jessica Weeks won their match 8-6, but USC was able to take the other two matches for the first point of the afternoon. The 49ers are next in action when they host CS Fullerton on Friday and No. 33-ranked LSU on Saturday at the El Dorado Tennis Courts.
