Taylor Finishes Fifth in Heptathlon

Taylor Finishes in Fifth Place at Big West Heptathlon NORTHRIDGE, CA-- Long Beach State's Jackie Taylor remained in fifth place after the two-day Big West heptathlon, finishing with 4606 points. Katie Black dropped to ninth place, finishing with 4258 points, as UC Irvine's Lauren Collins won the event with 5512 points. Taylor posted a personal-best 2:28.21 in the 800-meter, and also threw 111'6.5" in the javelin and long jumped 16'9.5". Black jumped 16'3.25" in the long jump, tossed it 84'4" in the javelin and ran 2:39.09. Black had two personal-bests on Saturday. The full meet continues next weekend in the San Fernando Valley.
