Cal Poly Completes Three-Game Sweep of 49ers Bridgette Pagano (12-7) went the distance for The Beach allowing one earned run on eight hits and five walks, while also striking out five. The 49ers registered eight hits, led by Jessica Beaver and Brooke LeSage who both had two hits a piece. Cal Poly's Emily Hively kept her record perfect as she improved to 8-0 on the season, while Jenna Maiden led the Mustang offense with a two-RBI single. Cal Poly scored the only run they needed in the first inning when Lisa Modglin led off with a triple and scored on an RBI single by Melissa Pura. In the fifth, Jenna Maiden singled to left field, but the ball skipped past Lacy Tyler to allow two runs to score. The 49ers threatened in the third when Franciska Morlet singled with one out, stole second and advanced to third on an infield single by Whitney Radcliff. Ashley Levine then hit a fly ball to left field and Morlet was thrown out at home on the tag attempt to end the inning. The 49ers best scoring chance came in the sixth as they loaded the bases with one out. However, designated player Janelle Zuniga grounded into a double play to end the inning. The 49ers will return home next weekend as they host cross-town rival Cal State Fullerton in a three-game series commencing with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 14 (1 pm) and concluding with a single game on Sunday, April 15 (1 pm).
