49ers Take Series at Pacific With 6-0 Win Bridgette Pagano (17-9) picked up her second shutout of the weekend as she went the distance allowing seven hits and one walk while striking out two. Jessica Beaver went 2-for-3 with a homerun while Brooke LeSage and Brianna Goad each chipped in two hits a piece. The 49ers struck first in the top of the fourth as they pushed two runs across on one hit and one error. Lacy Tyler was hit by the pitch to lead off the inning and then advanced to second as Beaver reached base when she laid down a sacrifice bunt and Pacific second baseman Casey Goldsand muffled the throw. Panita Thanatharn then bunted the runners over to second and third to set up LeSage who singled home Tyler. LeSage, who tried to advance on the play was thrown out at second, but the extra throw allowed Beaver to score. The 49ers scored two more runs in the sixth inning when Beaver had a one out single and then stole second. Stefanie Trutanic came in to run for Beaver as she was shook up in a collision on the play. Brooke LeSage then walked before Pagano hit a shot to right field that was mishandled by Vianney Campos allowing Trutanic to score. Goad then singled to left field to bring LeSage home. The Beach was able to get two more in the seventh thanks to Beaver's two-run homer over the centerfield fence. With the homerun, Beaver now has 39 RBI on the season, putting her only four RBI shy from tying the 49er single season record. The 49ers, who have won seven of their last nine games will return home next weekend for a non-conference series with future Big West member UC Davis.
