In addition to LeSage's and Beaver's homeruns, Lacy Tyler went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI, while Kourtnee Gervasi went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Kim Reeder (9-4) was credited with the loss in 5.0 innings pitched and Courtney Pruner hit a grand slam for the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes pushed their lead to 6-0 in the fourth inning with Pruner's grand slam. The 49ers responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning when Gervasi's single plated Tyler and LeSage. After walking both Whitney Radcliff and Beaver, Reeder then gave up a RBI single to Tyler followed by LeSage's three-run dinger. LBSU broke the tie in the sixth inning when Gervasi led off with a double and scored on a Buckeye error. Beaver's homer off Jamie Juarez gave the 49ers a comfortable four-run lead as Cross was able to shut down Ohio State in the seventh, giving the 49ers their third straight victory and seventh in their last nine games. The 49ers will head north this weekend to the Stanford Invitational. LBSU will open the weekend with a doubleheader on Friday as they take on Ohio at 1:00 pm and UC Davis at 5:00 pm.
