BOULDER CREEK, NV-- The 49er women's golf team in in sixth place after one round of the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational being held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder Creek, NV. The 49ers shot an eight-over 296 in Monday's opening round. BYU leads the team title chase after recording an eight-under 280. New Mexico is second at 284.

Individually, junior Kay Hoey is tied for fourth place after shooting a three-under 69. Beth Holtermann is tied for 18th with an even par 72 and Katy Barrett is tied for 60th place with a 77. BYU's Rachel Newren is the overall leader after entering the clubhouse witha five under 67. Lehua Wise (NMSU) and Jodi Ewart (UNM) are both tied for second with a four-under 68.

The tournament continues with 18 holes on Tuesday and concludes with 18 holes on Wednesday.
