49ers Rout Siena College Bridgette Pagano improved to 3-2 on the season as she struck out five batters in five innings pitched, and Melissa DeMarco pitched two innings of relief in the win. Panita Thanatharn led the way offensively as she went 5-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI, while Brooke LeSage went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Stefanie Trutanic was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Jessica Beaver belted two doubles while driving in two. The 49ers struck first in the fourth inning as a single by LeSage scored two, and then a groundout by Whitney Radcliffe brought in Jonae Perez. Long Beach State then went up 6-1 after scoring three runs on four hits, with back-to-back doubles from Lacy Tyler and Thanatharn in the fifth inning. The 49ers put the game out of reach in the top of the seventh as they went up 10-1 thanks in part to a two-RBI double from Beaver. The 49ers have a double-header on the final day of the Aztec Invitational as they take on the University of San Diego at 2 pm and will then face host San Diego State at 4:30 pm. |
