49ers Finish In 5th Place at New Mexico State
Kay Hoey Finishes Fourth With A 217

LAS CRUCES, NM-- The Long Beach State women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Price's "Give Em Five" Intercollegiate at the NMSU Golf Course in Las Cruces, NM. The No. 27-ranked 49ers shot a three-round total of 899, finishing just eight shots behind tournament champion Missouri (891). New Mexico State and New Mexico both tied for second place (893). Eighteen of the 21 teams in the tournament are nationally-ranked, led by No. 16 New Mexico, No. 22 Baylor, No. 27 LBSU and No. 35 Missouri.

Individually, sophomore Kay Hoey finished fourth overall with a one-over-par 217 (73-72-72). Senior Hayley Wilkinson tied for 13th with a 223 (75-76-72) and Josefine Lindbergh tied for 40th with a 230 (71-78-81). New Mexico's Mikaela Backstedt won the individual championship in a playoff over USF's Jessica Potter. Both players shot a three-under 213.

The 49ers will next be in action on November 1-2 when they compete at the Kent Youel Invitational at the Kapolei Golf Course in Honolulu, HI
