Touzinsky Named MPSF Player of the Week
Senior Records 25 Kills at Pepperdine

WOODLAND, CA – Senior outside hitter, Scott Touzinsky of the Long Beach State men's volleyball team, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Touzinsky (St. Louis, MO) recorded a match-high 25 kills in last Wednesday's 3-1 victory over then No. 2-ranked Pepperdine. The victory snapped LBSU's six-match losing streak to the Waves. Touzinsky's 25th kill, in fact ended the match. Touzinsky also added one ace, four digs, and two blocks versus Pepperdine.

Touzinsky has recorded 65 kills in his last two matches (7.22 kills/gm), and leads the MPSF with 5.58 kills per game this season (league matches only). Touzinsky ranks second in the nation at 5.05 kills per game. He set a conference and career-high 40 kills versus BYU on Jan. 30.

No. 5-ranked Long Beach State (9-3, 4-2) faces No. 1-ranked UCLA (10-1, 5-1) today, Wednesday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
