| TRACK FALLS JUST SHORT AT STANFORD Sampson Misses Nationals By one Spot, Yadon Breaks School Record

PALO ALTO, CA -- The road to the NCAA National Track and Field Championships ended this past weekend for The Beach, as 11 athletes failed to qualify for nationals at the first ever NCAA West Regional Championships at Stanford.
The highest finish for the women came from junior Stephanie Sampson (Yorba Linda) in the hammer throw. Her toss of 181'09" left her in sixth place, one spot out of a trip to the national meet.
Sophomore Jennifer Yadon (Lancaster) ran her fourth school-record of the season as she improved her personal best in the 3000m steeplechase to 10:33.99. Yadon finished in tenth place overall for the meet.
Senior Cory Loebl recorded the highest finish for the men's team with a seventh and ninth place finish in the discus and hammer, respectively. Loebl tossed the discus 181'11" and the hammer 191'08", but failed to move on to the national meet. Results:
