Dr. Brenda Vogel received her PhD in Social Ecology in 1996 and has been a member of the Long Beach Faculty in the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Emergency Management since 2001. She has numerous articles and books in the areas of criminological theory, the death penalty, perceptions of crime seriousness, and the treatment of racial and ethnic minorities by the justice system. She served as the university’s Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) from 2007 through 2015 and again from 2019 to the present.
