Pedro Osorio enters his third year as an assistant coach at Long Beach State. Last season, Osorio helped the Beach reach the NCAA Tournament and claim the Big West regular-season title. Six 49ers earned all-conference honors, while three were named to the NSCAA All-West Region Team. In 2014, Long Beach State finished third in the conference before advancing to the Big West Tournament championship game. LBSU claimed four of the major Big West awards as Taylor Nelson was named the league's defensive player of the year, Mimi Rangel the midfielder of the year, Ashton McKeown the goalkeeper of the year and Ashley Gonzales the freshman of the year. In addition, the quartet garnered NSCAA All-West Region accolades with Gonzales also being a Soccer America Freshman All-American. Osorio came to the Beach from Saint Mary's where he was a volunteer assistant during the 2013 season. He was also a coach and technical coordinator at Lamorinda Soccer Club. Osorio has coached at the club level for 12 years, including five seasons as the head coach of the Lamorinda `95 girls' team. He led the squad to a No. 1 ranking in the state of California, as well as a No. 1 ranking in Region IV. Under Osorio's direction, Lamorinda `95 claimed a USYSA State championship, back-to-back U.S. Club Regional championships and a U.S. Club National championship. He is currently the head coach of the Beach FC G99 Academy team. As an athlete, Osorio played professionally for the San Jose Frogs (2005-06), NorCal Lamorinda United (2007), Bay Area Ambassadors (2008-10) and Navua FC (2010). He also had a brief stint at Saint Mary's before leaving early to pursue his professional career. Osorio prepped at Miramonte High School from 2001-04, where he led the Matadors to three CIF North Coast Section titles. He was a Contra Costa Times all-regional selection as a senior. Osorio also played youth soccer for Lamorinda Soccer Club. Osorio holds an NSCAA National License and ACF Fiorintina Advance certification in Player Development and Methodology.
