Kristian Kuld is in his tenth season as the top assistant coach for the Long Beach State beach volleyball team. With his assistance, the program has made three trips to the postseason, and has continued a stretch of 98 consecutive weeks in the AVCA rankings.
During the 2023 campaign, Kuld helped the Beach win their first ever Big West Championship and qualify for their second NCAA Tournament appearance.
In his time, Long Beach has been a top three seed in every Big West tournament including the number two seed in three consecutive seasons (2021-23).
His efforts were recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association in 2018, as Kuld was chosen as one of “Thirty under 30” up-and-coming coaches to watch.
Kuld played collegiately at UCLA before founding the Actyve Volleyball Club in 2014, where he now serves as a Co-Director and Head Coach. Under his leadership, Actyve has made six top five finishes in USAV/AAU Nationals or qualifier tournaments.
Kuld played collegiately at UCLA. He walked on to the men's volleyball team as a freshman in 2008 but had earned a scholarship by his senior year in 2012. He came to UCLA from Toronto, Canada, where he had a very successful youth career. He led his club team to multiple provincial championships and a national championship. He also found success on the beach, making the Canada's U19 National Team.
