Jason Flowers begins his fourth season with the Long Beach State program in 2007-08. His primary responsibilities include player skill development as well assisting in the recruiting efforts.

Prior to Long Beach State, Flowers was the head girl's varsity coach for Santa Ana Valley High School in 2003-04. Flowers began his coaching career with the UCLA in 2002-03, serving as a volunteer assistant for the men's team. Flowers served as the team's academic coordinator for two seasons, in 2001-02 and in 2002-03.

Flowers played at UCLA in 2000-01, transferring after playing two seasons at UC Irvine in 1997-98 and 1998-99. As a Bruin, Flowers came on late in the year making eight of his 10 starts in Pac-10 play in 2000-01. As a junior at UCI in 1998-99, Flowers averaged 17 minutes per game and 5.4 points per game. As a freshman, Flowers averaged just over 21 minutes per game and was fourth on the team with an 8.2 points per game scoring average. His top scoring performance came during the 1997-98 season when he scored 25 points against Long Beach State on February 19, 1998. Prior to playing at UC Irvine, Flowers attended UCLA for one year in 1996-97.

A 2001 graduate in sociology, he earned two academic honors from UCLA, the Coaches versus Cancer Academic Award and the Alumni Association's Academic Award. He was also awarded the Ducky Drake Memorial Award for inspiration and team play.

As a prep, Flowers attended Bellflower High School, where he averaged 12.4 points and 6.5 assists per game as a senior, earning first team All-Suburban League honors. He also played baseball at Bellflower.

Flowers is married to LBSU assistant softball coach Tairia Flowers, a gold-medal winning member of the US National Softball Team. They have one daughter, Jasmine.
