Jackie Zink joins the 49er coaching staff in 2008-09 as a full-time assistant. Her primary responsibilities will include player skill development, recruiting, and scholastic supervision.
Zink spent the 2007-08 on the bench with the Stanford Cardinal under Hall of Fame Coach Tara VanDerveer, working with the team as the Cardinal advanced to the national championship game. Zink also has one additional year of Division I experience with the University of San Francisco.
Prior to moving to the collegiate ranks, Zink spent three years as a head coach at two positions at the high school level, leading the girls programs at The Branson School in Ross, Calif. and the Urban School in San Francisco. During that time, she earned a Bay County League Championship, and was a North Coast Section Semifinalist.
Zink played for two years for Cuesta College before transferring to Sonoma State, where she made two trips to the Division II NCAA Tournament and earned a share of the 1997-98 California Collegiate Athletic Association championship.
She graduated from Sonoma State in 2000 with a degree in kinesiology.
