Brittney Reese
Brittney Reese, one of the most decorated long jumpers in track and field history, begins her first season as an assistant coach in 2026. She will work primarily with the Beach’s jumpers.

A seven-time World Champion and Olympic gold medalist, Reese brings unmatched competitive experience and coaching expertise to the program. She captured Olympic gold in London in 2012 and added silver medals at the 2016 Rio and 2021 Tokyo Games. Over a professional career spanning nearly two decades, she earned 12 global medals, including Outdoor World Championships in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017, along with three World Indoor titles (2010, 2012, 2016). She also holds the American indoor record in the long jump (7.23m), solidifying her place among the sport’s all-time greats.

Reese began her coaching career at San Diego Mesa College (2015–17), where she helped produce multiple junior college All-Americans, before leading Gulfport High School’s track and field program from 2023–25. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes both technical excellence and personal growth, aligning with Long Beach State’s mission of developing champions on and off the track.

As a student-athlete, Reese starred at the University of Mississippi, where she won back-to-back NCAA Outdoor long jump titles in 2007 and 2008, laying the foundation for her historic professional career.
