2010 (Freshman): Named as a 2010 “Rising Star” and an Honorable Mention Blocker of the Year by Collegiate Volleyball Update … A first-team All-Big West and All-Big West Freshman Team selection … Finished the season ranked third nationally with 1.58 blocks per set … Led the 49ers in blocking as well, helping Long Beach State to a 2.91 blocks per set average, eighth in the nation and best in the Big West … Made 145 block assists, one less than the single-season school record as a true freshman … Also ranked ninth in school history with 37 solo blocks in 2010 … Ranked third in the Big West with a .357 hitting percentage on the year … Was third on the 49ers with 339 kills on the season, averaging 2.95 per set … Had three double-doubles on the season in kills and blocks … Made the first with a career-high 21 kills and 12 blocks in a win over No. 25 St. Mary’s … Hit .517 with a team-high 18 kills in an upset win over No. 14 Colorado State …Named the Co-Big West Player of the Week for that performance … Made a career high four solo blocks in that match against the Rams … Hit .571 with nine kills in a three-set sweep of Cal State Fullerton … Hit .533 with 10 kills against UC Davis … That started a streak where she had 10 or more kills in six of the next seven matches … Her high came with 15 kills on .394 hitting in a win over Pacific … Hit .478 with 11 kills in the NCAA Tournament against San Diego … Started for the USA Junior National Team over the summer.
High School: Led Huntington Beach High School to a league championship while lettering in volleyball … Also a two-year letter winner in water polo … A three-time All-Seaview League selection in volleyball … An All-Orange County pick in 2008 and 2009 … A first-team All-CIF selection as a senior … A member of the junior national team for the USA … Earned a gold medal in the 2010 NORCECA championships with Team USA … Named to the All-Tournament Team at the championships … Earned the “Best Blocker” award as well … Also an All-Tournament Team member with Cal Juniors at the Junior Olympic club competition … An honors graduate from HBHS.
