86 Student-Athletes From Long Beach State Named Spring Academic All-Big West

The award recognizes conference athletes from Big West sports who achieve in the classroom while competing in Spring competition.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State had 86 student-athletes across 10 different sports recognized as Academic All-Big West for the Spring semester as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
To be selected Academic All-Conference, Student-Athletes must meet a cumulative GPA standard, meet participation criteria relevant to their specific sport, and have completed a full academic year prior to the season for which the award is being received.
Women's Track and Field had the highest representation, with 21 student-athletes in total. Trinity Barnett, Milani Bell, KiiKii Brown, Alexa Camacho, Sammy Chang, Kendra Daniels, Jaliyah Davis, Rori Denness-Lamont, Sophie Garrou, Daryana Hall, Giszelle Grehor, Tarynn Maroney, Charlotte O'Connor, Jadyn Palaschuk, Marikay Schwab, Jonelle Scott, Madeline Scovil, Grace Stoddart, Alyssa Tapanes, Nataly Toledo and Brooke Willoughby were all selected. The Men's team was also well represented, with Brandon Day, Ethan Florez, Cameron Gill, Eman Goodloe, Tyler Knowles, Milo Orona, Miguel Orozco, Kyle Reden, Tola Spencer and Cytres Vives the 10 candidates from the program.
Eleven Women's Water Polo players were recognized in Chiara Amoroso, Jaeden Baker, Jermonie Billingsly, Rita Gurri, Zelma Koka, Hailey Multz, Gaby Patenaude, Brookyln Plomp, Elisa Portillo, Daniela Quinzada and Emma Seehafer.
Eight student-athletes each from Beach Volleyball, Men's Volleyball and Softball also earned the honor. Out on the sand, Brooke Birch, Mahala Esser, Malia Gementera, Taylor Hagenah, Victoria Henkel, Tineke Hinton, Kealoha Phillips and Demi Wagdy earned the honor. Connor Bloom, Ben Braun, Daniil Herstynovich, Dane Hillis, Alex Kandev, Kellen Larson, Ryan Peluso and Skyler Varga represented the Big West Championship winners, while Kate Barnett, Lindsey Cowans, Emily Dowden, Erica Estrada, Priscilla Iniguez, Brooklyn Lee, Sophia Stein and Avery Weisbrook represented Softball.
Nearly the entire Women's Tennis team was honored with seven recipients in Pamela Badillo, Daisy Carpenter, Diana De Simone, Paulina Franco Martinessi, Thea Jagare, Daria Malaescu and Cecilia Costa. Also with seven honorees was baseball, with Cristien Banda, Trotter Enright, Jake Fields, Tyler Gebb, Reid Montgomery, Alex Ramos, and Conner Stewart. Finally, five golfers were selected with Krishnav Chopraa, Steen Zeman, and Alejandro de Castro Piera from the men's team and Madison Le and Erin Lee from the women's team.
