A strong field awaits The Beach, with teams scheduled to compete including Biola, California Baptist, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Cal State San Marcos, Chapman, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Concordia Irvine, Fresno Pacific, Fresno State, La Verne, Long Beach State, UNLV, Pepperdine, Pomona-Pitzer, Redlands, San Diego State, San Francisco, Southern Utah, Stanislaus State, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Riverside, USC, and Utah Tech.

Long Beach State tallied 58 points in the season opener, finishing behind team champion UC Santa Barbara (40) and host Pepperdine (46).
Kyle Reden led The Beach with a seventh-place finish, clocking a career-best 6K time of 18:39.5. Cameron Rhone followed closely in eighth (18:42.6), while Miles Jones (12th, 18:48.6), Cameron Gill (13th, 18:49.3), and Cristian Martinez (18th, 19:02.4) rounded out the scoring five.

Max Ramirez finished 35th (20:05.2), and Brandon Day closed out the lineup in 41st (20:39.8). UC Santa Barbara's Zachary Parker claimed the individual title with a time of 17:44.6.

The Beach placed second overall at the Waves Invitational, scoring 55 points behind UC Santa Barbara's 32 in the season-opening 4K.

Marikay Schwab paced LBSU with a fourth-place finish in 13:43.8, followed by Jadyn Palaschuk in eighth (14:02.7) and Darcy Ray in ninth (14:06.4) in her collegiate debut. Brooke Willoughby (19th, 14:32.7) and Sharice Laygo (21st, 14:37.6) completed the scoring five.

Alyssa Tapanes (30th, 14:51.1) and Nataly Toledo (35th, 15:00.5) added depth in the top 40. Also competing for The Beach were Natasha King (49th, 15:51.3), Elisa Rodriguez (50th, 15:52.7), and Elena Windsor (62nd, 17:13.2).

UC Santa Barbara captured the team title with five runners in the top 11, while Pepperdine's Elizabeth Crawford won the individual race in 13:09.1.
