Hurley Named Big West Field Athlete Of The Week

Hurley competed in five events over two meets Apr. 17-19.
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Long Beach State's Jenelle Hurley was named Big West Field Athlete of the Week on Apr. 22.
Hurley, a heptathlete, competed in five events over two meets on her home Jack Rose Track last week. At the Pacific Coast Invitational, she established a new career-best in the high jump of 5-7 3/4 to finish sixth and posted a new season-best in the long jump, 18-10 3/4, to place 10th. Hurley ran a wind-aided 25.29 in the 200 during the PCI.
She came close to her PR during the Beach Invitational, running 14.58 in the 100m hurdles. She also competed in the javelin (110-11) and the high jump (5-4 1/4).
Long Beach State is off this week, resuming action May 2-3 at UC Irvine's Steve Scott Invitational.
