Women’s Golf Ties Hosts For Fourth At Silicon Valley Showcase

Long Beach State climbed an additional spot in the final round on Tuesday.

MILLBRAE, Calif. – Junior Jasmine Leovao recorded a second straight round under par to close out a Top 10 finish, her seventh of the year as Long Beach State tied for fourth place with Santa Clara at the Silicon Valley Showcase from Green Hills Country Club.

Final Results

Jasmine Leovao had a second straight 70 to close the tournament, tying for seventh place with a +1 214. Janae Leovao shot a 71 on the final day to end the tournament at 219, six-over par in a tie for 18th in a Top 20 finish, the seventh at that level for the junior this season.

Sophomore Erin Lee and junior Madison Le each closed the tournament with rounds of 79, sharing 27th place overall in the tournament. Long Beach State began the final day in fifth place, but was four strokes better than the host Broncos to tie Santa Clara for fourth place. Pepperdine won the tournament, one stroke in front of Kansas State while San Francisco placed third.

Graduate Hannah Jugar did not start the final round for Long Beach State, as the Beach played with four but still had a better score than all but the top three teams to close the tournament.

Long Beach State will play in one more tournament prior to the Big West Championship, taking part in the Chevron Silverado Showdown. Co-Hosted by Colorado and Oregon, the tournament will run over three days starting on April 7 from the Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif.
