Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah Win Big West Pair Of The Week

The duo won their second Pair of the Week honor this season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - After playing four dominant matches over two days, Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah have been named the Big West pair of the week. This is their fifth pair of the week title.Â
Gementera and Hagenah defeated pairs from Tarleton State, the University of Arizona, Boise State and Concordia all in straight sets. The pair is currently on an eight-game winning streak. Â
The dynamic duo is in their third season with the Beach and have played all of their matches together. They currently sit at 74 wins, which is the most pairs wins in program history. The duo also holds the record for most pairs wins in a single season with 34 wins during the 2023 campaign. Â
Gementera and Hagenah have been the first flight pair for the Beach since their freshman season, where they led Long Beach State to their first Big West title in program history. Together, they have taken down 25 ranked opponents and were both named First Team All-Americans last season. Â
