The ascendant Men’s Golf program has added four new talents for next season.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Rob Murray and Men's Golf have added four new players committed to joining Long Beach State Men's Golf next season as the championship program reloads for next season with a mix of California and International talent.

Andrew Rodriguez | Whittier, Calif.

Andrew Rodriguez joins the Beach out of La Serna High School as one of the top recruits in California, 13th in the 2026 class and ranked in the Top 150 nationally. Rodriguez won the AJGA Seri Pak Desert Junior tournament, and had a pair of runner-up finishes at the AJGA Beau Hossler Junior Championship and the SCPGA Toyota Tour Cup at Temecula Creek.

Murray on Rodriguez:
"Andrew was a big-time pick up for us. He's a proven winner at the AJGA level and has played a ton of golf. Andrew has a great team around him already. He's also had a decent amount of exposure of tournament golf out of the state which really helps his development."

Hanks Wang | Diamond Bar, Calif.

Hanks Wang is another California product, competing with Servite High School and ranked 14th in California for the class of 2026. Last season on the Toyota Tour Cup, Wang had one win and four Top 10s, and was the runner-up at the Southern Nevada Invitational and placed third at the California State Junior Amateur.

Murray on Wang:
"Really excited to add Hanks! He has tons of speed and raw talent. A Servite High School graduate so this should help him settle in fast at Long Beach State. Hanks has won on AJGA and Toyota tour cup and these experiences will only help him at the college level."

Enzo Persson | Gothenburg, Sweden

Enzo Persson is the first of two International recruits in the class, coming to the Beach from Sweden. Persson was part of the Swedish National Boys Team in each of the last two years. In 2024, Sweden placed third in the European boys team championship, and also won the Italian U16 championship in 2023. Individually, Persson was the Swedish match play champion in 2024, and had a pair of wins and two runner-up finishes so far in 2025-26.

Murray on Persson:
"Enzo is a big strong physical kid with a lot of international experience. As a member of the Swedish national team, he's already very familiar with what college golf looks like. The Swedish national team does a great job of pushing their athletes, both on the course and in the weight room. Enzo will add depth to the roster and I'm excited to welcome him."

Bruce MacDonald | Belfast, Ireland

Bruce MacDonald has been having an outstanding year in Ireland, and is the No. 1 ranked junior in the country after the 2025 season. MacDonald won the 2025 Ulster Boys Open, placed second in the 2025 Irish Boys Open, and represented Ireland in U18 competition at the 2025 Home Internationals against England, Scotland and Wales.

Murray on MacDonald:
"Bruce is a strong athletic player that has played multiple sports growing up. He's gonna add that mental toughness and grit to the team that all Irish players have to have to succeed playing that style of golf. As a member of the Irish national team. He will also add experience from playing on the international stage and I look forward to welcoming him."

Long Beach State Men's Golf had a spectacular fall, winning two tournaments and posting the program's best record in fall competition over their first five tournaments. The Beach will now head into the spring looking for a fourth consecutive Big West Championship and a deep run into the postseason as a program ranked in the nation's Top 40.
