Both teams faced each other on the quarterfinals of the 2024 NCAA Championships.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 10 Long Beach State hosts No. 5 Fordham in one of their last non-conference matchups of the season at the LBCC Aquatics Complex this Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The Beach and the Rams have faced each other on only two occasions, the most recent in the NCAA Championships quarterfinals last season, where the East Coast team edged LBSU 16-11 after a successful year, losing only one game all season.

Fresh off another conference win, the Beach (12-7, 2-0 Big West) looks to build momentum while facing a tough opponent. Long Beach State traveled to No. 7 UC San Diego Friday night and secured its second Big West win, 14-12 over the Tritons, after a 6-0 run in the second quarter to control the game. Leading the offense against UCSD was junior Caleb Francisco with four goals and graduate student Jason O'Donnell with three. Goalkeeper William Whitstone recorded nine saves in the win, while O'Donnell added four field blocks to help the Beach defense.

Scoring in every single game so far this season, sophomore Gabi Acosta continues to pace the team's offense with 54 goals. Francisco ranks second on the team with 37 goals, followed by Toring Stanley with 26. Stanley leads the team in assists with 20, while his younger brother Corbin leads the team in earned ejections with 28.

Fordham (13-1, 6-0 MAWPC) starts their west coast swing with the match against the Beach before heading to Northern California for a game against No. 2 California and three more matches at the Julian Fraser Tournament hosted by Santa Clara. The Rams continue to prove to be one of the best teams in the country, suffering only one loss this season, a 16-9 game against the National Champions, UCLA. Fordham is on a nine-game winning streak since then, with its most recent wins coming against No. 20 George Washington and Navy in conference play. Returners Luca Provenziani and Andras Toth continue to power the Rams' offense, and goalkeepers Kristof Magony and Matthew Bonello DuPuis have split time in the cage this year.

First sprint against the Rams is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the LBCC Aquatics Complex, with live stats provided through TheFOSH.net.
