Long Beach State will close out its regular season on Saturday when both the men's and women's cross country teams compete at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara University at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif.

The men's 8K invitational begins at 8:45 a.m., followed by the women's 6K race at 9:30 a.m.
Â
A strong field of more than 20 teams is scheduled to compete, including Cal Poly, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, San José State, Santa Clara, and nationally ranked San Francisco.

Men:
The Beach men placed second with 170 points, trailing only nationally ranked San Francisco, which dominated the meet with 33 points and four runners in the top nine.

Levi Taylor led Long Beach State with a 13th-place finish in 24:08.2, the eighth-fastest 8K time in program history. Cameron Rhone followed in 23rd (24:19.7), while Cristian Martinez (50th, 24:42.9), Kyle Reden (60th, 24:50.5), Cameron Gill (63rd, 24:54.0), and Miles Jones (84th, 25:06.9) all recorded personal bests. Brandon Day (174th, 26:02.7) rounded out the scoring for the Beach.

Women:
The Long Beach State women placed 18th overall with 437 points in a competitive 6K invitational race.
Â
Marikay Schwab paced the team in 55th (21:23.2), followed by Jadyn Palaschuk (84th, 21:39.4) and Alyssa Tapanes (103rd, 21:49.8). Darcy Ray (109th, 21:51.3) and Brooke Willoughby (122nd, 21:57.9) completed the scoring five, with Willoughby also posting a career best.

Additional finishers included Sharice Laygo (134th), Nataly Toledo (137th), Natasha King (201st), and Elisa Rodriguez (207th). San Francisco claimed the women's team title with 45 points behind individual champion Jess Spilsbury (20:19.0).
