LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf has announced their 2024-25 schedule, mixing in a few new destinations in addition to their own home tournament in preparation for a run at a second straight Big West title and NCAA postseason appearance.
The fall season will kick off with a new tournament, as Long Beach State will travel to New Mexico to take part in the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational held at the golf course of the hosts, New Mexico in Albuquerque starting on Sunday, September 8. The team will then take part in Washington's Leadership and Golf Invitational in Seattle before returning to the Ptarmigan Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State to close out a busy September.
Another new tournament will close out the fall, as the Beach will take part in the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational hosted by Kansas on October 7-8. In the spring, the Beach will again start February with a dual match, this year facing San Diego State on the road on February 2.
Long Beach State is excited to return to hosting in 2024-25, and will hold a three-day tournament on February 15-17, the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic. Headed out to the desert, the tournament will be held at the Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
The Beach will return to a premier Southern California tournament also in February, the Bruin Wave Invitational co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine before returning to the desert for the Yale Invitational West at PGA West in La Quinta and returning to the Silicon Valley Showcase for the third year in a row.
Finally, the Beach will take part in the Chevron Silverado Showdown co-hosted by Oregon and Colorado at the Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif. before attempting to defend their Big West title at the Big West Championship, which once again will be hosted at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas from April 13-15.
Long Beach State women's golf returns six golfers from that championship squad and has added key newcomers in anticipation of another great season.
