EUGENE, Ore.—Long Beach State's Omri Shiff earned honorable mention All-American honors in the 400m hurdles Wednesday night at the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships.
Running on the famed Hayward Field track on the University of Oregon campus, Shiff posted a time of 51.50 to place 23rd and become the first Beach men's competitor to earn outdoor All-American honors in the 400m hurdles.
Shiff's performance marks the 13th consecutive men's NCAA Division I Championships in which Long Beach State has taken part in which an LBSU entry has earned All-American status.
The top nine finishers advanced to Friday's finals, earning first-team All-American honors. The Second-team All-America honors go to the racers who finish between 10th and 16th place. The competitors who finished between 17th and 24th received honorable mention All-American status.
