Long Beach State Men’s Golf remains locked in a tight battle for the qualifying positions for the upcoming NCAA Championship.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – As predicted, rain and lightning played havoc with NCAA Regional action on Tuesday from North Carolina, and play was suspended early afternoon ET for the remainder of the day.
An early wakeup call Tuesday allowed teams that had not completed the second round the opportunity to finish the round, and all teams were able to take the course briefly. A few pairings of the lead group were able to complete five holes, while Long Beach State's group on the back-nine were only able to complete 1-3 holes on the day before a second and final stoppage halted play Tuesday.
Georgia Tech, Baylor and Long Beach State are all playing together in the final round, as the trio currently within one stroke of each other in the top six, with the top five teams advancing to next week's NCAA Championship from Carlsbad.
Final round play Wednesday is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. ET. Live scoring will continue to be provided at https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=29178.
