LONG BEACH, Calif.--Junior Mike Villani was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List on Apr. 24.
LONG BEACH, Calif.--Junior Mike Villani was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List on Apr. 24.
Villani is 1-of-59 pitchers named to the list. The 6-2 junior righthander is seventh in Division I in saves with seven. Villani is 1-2 with a 2.41 ERA in 16 appearances for the Dirtbags this season. He has struck out 23 while walking six in 18.2 innings. Villani has allowed 14 hits this season.
The Stopper of the Year Award winner will be revealed Friday, June 14, at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
