Long Beach State Men’s Volleyball Reveals 2025 Schedule

The road back to the Final Four begins January 11
LONG BEACH, Calif. — Long Beach State Head Men's Volleyball Coach Alan Knipe announced the 2025 schedule on Monday morning. Featuring 11 teams ranked in the final 2024 AVCA/NVA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Poll, the Beach, which finished the season ranked No. 2 in the poll, have another challenging schedule on the docket.
"It is a great schedule with a lot if intent," Knipe explained. "We are excited to host the North American Challenge. It will be a great kick off to our season. During our non-conference schedule, we travel to the Midwest, and we have some local regional matches against some highly ranked opponents. The conference season will be competitive, as always. LB Nation can look forward to another solid men's volleyball season in 2025."
The action begins with the North American Challenge which takes place in Long Beach, Calif., from January 3-4. The Beach will host three Canadian opponents. Pepperdine and UC San Diego join LBSU as the matches will be played in both the Walter Pyramid and the Gold Mine.
The regular season begins January 11 when Long Beach State hosts Fairleigh Dickinson. The Beach then hits the road for a three-game road trip as LBSU travels to Lindenwood on January 15, McKendree on January 16, and Lewis on January 18.
Long Beach State returns to the Walter Pyramid on January 24 to host Concordia before heading to Pepperdine the following day. LBSU heads back out for the Silver State Showcase in Reno, Nev. on January 31 and February 1 against Fort Valley and Belmont Abbey, respectively. Belmont Abbey is a rematch of the opening round of the 2024 national tournament in which the Beach swept the Crusaders.
In a rematch of the 2024 NCAA National Championship match, Long Beach State and UCLA play a home-and-home series February 7 and February 12 that begins in Long Beach. A four-match homestand begins February 14 against Vanguard. In a rematch of the 2024 NCAA Semifinals, Grand Canyon enters the Walter Pyramid on February 21. The weekend concludes with a two-match series against Barton on February 22-23.
Big West play begins March 5 at CSUN before a season-long six-match homestand begins on March 7 against Sacred Heart. LBSU hosts CSUN on March 14 before welcoming Princeton to the Walter Pyramid on March 15. The non-conference slate ends March 21-22 with a two-match series against NJIT.
The Black and Blue rivalry against UC Irvine is featured on the weekend of March 28-29. The Beach and UC Santa Barbara play Big West matches April 4-5 before LBSU travels to Hawai'i April 11-12. The regular season concludes April 18-19 against UC San Diego.
The Hawaiian Islands presents the 2025 Outrigger Big West Men's Volleyball Championship runs from April 24-26 in Honolulu. Ohio State will host the 2025 NC Men's Volleyball Championship May 6-12 at the Covelli Center in Columbus.
