Long Beach State Women's Basketball Continues Road Trip At Sac State On Sunday
The Long Beach State Women's Basketball team continues its Northern California road trip at Sacramento State on Sunday, Nov. 17. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

About the Beach
• Long Beach State Head Coach Amy Wright returns to the hardwood for her second season at the Beach after leading her squad to a Big West Semifinal appearance last season.
• This season, Wright brings back her entire staff of Brian Rosario, Jashae Lee, Raru Archer, and director of operations Brittany Klaman.
• In addition to the entire coaching staff returning, Long Beach State is welcoming back six letterwinners from a year ago, while adding eight talented newcomers to the mix.
• The Beach opened the 2024-25 campaign with a 67-65 victory over William & Mary, before dropping an 81-65 road contest to Pacific to bring their overall record to 1-1.
• Picking up right where she left a year ago, senior guard Savannah Tucker leads the Beach in scoring with 12.0 points per game. She also adds 1.5 rebounds per game, while totaling a team-high eight assists.
• Sophomore forward Jada Crawshaw is the Beach's second leading scorer as she averages 10.0 points per game, while also contributing 5.5 rebounds per game. Her three blocks are tops on the squad. 
• Freshman JaQuoia Jones-Brown has done an excellent job cleaning up the glass this season. In just two games, she is leading Long Beach State with 7.0 rebounds per game. She also chips in 6.5 points per game.
• Senior guard Patricia Chung has been solid on the defensive end picking up a team-best four steals in just two games thus far. She also contributes 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, while adding four assists.
• In the Big West Preseason Coaches Poll, Long Beach State was picked to finish fourth in the standings. The Beach garnered 63 points to come in behind preseason favorite Hawaii (96 points, 6 first-place votes), second place UC Irvine (95 points, 5 first-place votes), and UC Davis (81 points). 

Scouting Sac State
• Sacramento State comes into the game against Long Beach State with a perfect 4-0 record.
• The Hornets are coming off of a 67-40 victory over Big West foe Cal State Fullerton.  
• Prior to the win over the Titans, Sac State collected victories against Jessup (78-51), UC San Diego (71-60), and Lincoln (88-55). 
• As a team, the Hornets are averaging 76.0 points per game against 51.5 for a scoring margin of +24.5. Sac State also leads its opponents with a rebounding margin of +12.3, while averaging 16.3 assists, 11.0 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game.
• Sac State has three players averaging double-figures. Lina Falk leads the way with 14.3 points per game, while Sofia Alonso adds 10.3, and Jaydia Martin contributes 10.0.
• Alonso is also the team's leader in steals with 11, while Martin is right behind her with 10. 
• Leading the Hornets in rebounding is Fatoumata Jaiteh with 6.0 boards per game. She also adds 7.8 points per game, eight steals, and one block.
• Benthe Versteeg's 20 assists are tops on the squad. She also adds 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game to go along with five steals and one block.

The Series: The Beach vs. The Hornets
Long Beach State and Sacramento State will face each other for the eighth time in program history. The all-time series dates back to 1975 and LBSU leads the series, 5-2. The Beach won the first four contests that were played between 1975 and 1996. However, the Hornets emerged victorious in 1997 and 2011. In their last meeting, Long Beach State earned a 74-71 win over Sac State on Nov. 9, 2012 in Long Beach, Calif. When playing each other in Sacramento, Calif., the Hornets lead the series 2-0.
