Long Time LBSU Staff Member and Supporter, Pat West, Has Passed Away

Grandma Pat was loved by all Beach supporters and colleagues she interacted with in her 40 years of supporting Long Beach State Athletics.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Pat West passed away this week at the age of 96. A longtime Beach family member, she supported LBSU Athletics for over 40 years.
"Grandma Pat" as she became known started as a season ticket holder and ended up working in the department in various fashions. She helped with countless banquets and fundraising events, and was willing to do anything she could do to help improve the lives of the student-athletes and coaches.
Pat was at virtually every home event in the Walter Pyramid with a full candy jar in hand for anyone in need of a pick me up and continued to volunteer her time over the years even after leaving the department.
She is survived by her son Douglas West, and daughters and son-in-law, Dale and Wayne Brydon, Pam and Taylor Ramsey, Susan and Bill Ferguson, Laurie and Howard Johnson, and Lisa and Richard Noble. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Eldorado Park Golf Course, on August 19, 2023 at 2pm.
