LBSU Men’s Golf Set for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic

The Beach will tee off on Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Following a two-week hiatus, the Long Beach State Men's Golf team is back in action on Monday, April 3 as the squad tees off at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz. The first two rounds will be played on the opening day, with the final round taking place on Tuesday, April 4.
The Beach are one of 22 teams competing at the Cattail Course, a 72 par, 7,334-yard course. In addition to Long Beach State and host, Wyoming, the field is also comprised of TCU, Kansas, Saint Mary's, Utah Valley, Utah State, Grand Canyon, Pacific, UT Arlington, UNLV, San Diego State, Iowa State, Missouri, Weber State, Loyola Marymount, UTEP, Denver, Southern Utah, Arizona State, and fellow Big West programs UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara.
Long Beach State is led by No. 22 Ian Gilligan who will tee off in the No. 1 spot for the Beach. Rounding out the remainder of the LBSU lineup are Jaden Huggins, Isaac Rodea, Steven Deutsch, and Sebastian Vallejo. Clay Seeber will be competing in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic as an individual.
Gilligan, a sophomore, is coming off another solid outing in which he turned in a Top 5 finish at the Bandon Dunes Invitational.
Huggins, Rodea, and Deutsch come into the Wyoming Cowboy Classic all looking to improve on their performances at the Bandon Dunes Invitational where they battled the elements and even saw the second round canceled due to inclement weather.
Vallejo will make his first appearance for the Beach of the spring. In his last outing, he shot an 8-over par at the competitive Cal Poly Invitational during the fall season.
Seeber will make his 2022-23 debut as he competes as an individual at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. A 2021 Big West All-First Team selection in his freshman season, Seeber will tee off for the first time in his junior campaign after a solid sophomore season in which he finished with a stroke average of 74.78.
