Shannon Haddad Named Big West Pitcher Of The Week

Haddad was dominant in her two starts as Long Beach State opened Big West play with a sweep of UC Riverside.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Sophomore Shannon Haddad was named the Big West Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office today following two fantastic starts at the LBSU Softball Complex.
Long Beach State finished the weekend in first place in the Big West standings after a sweep of UC Riverside, helped in large part by an outstanding weekend from sophomore Shannon Haddad.
The 2021 Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year, Haddad made two starts against the Highlanders, winning both and not allowing a single run in a pair of complete game shutouts.
Finishing the weekend with a 2-0 record and an unblemished 0.00 ERA, Haddad now leads the Big West in both categories, and had 10 strikeouts without allowing a walk in the pair of victories.
Long Beach State has now won the Big West Pitcher of the Week award in back-to-back weeks, as LBSU's other starter, Eryka Gonzales, picked up the honor after throwing a complete game of her own in a victory over then No. 16 Baylor.
