Women’s Soccer Sees Three Players Named CSC Academic All-District

The revamped Collegiate Sports Communicators award recognizes high-achieving student-athletes in both competition and the classroom.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Soccer had three student-athletes honored with selection to Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, the first step to Academic All-America consideration as part of a revamped program elevating both academic and athletic requirements for consideration.
Senior Aleea Caceres and sophomores Julia Moore and Sara Ybarra were all named Academic All-District under the new guidelines.
Julia Moore started every game for Long Beach State and holds a perfect 4.00 GPA, majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Molecular Cell and Physiology. Moore was fourth on the team with nine points on the year, scoring four goals which was tied for third-most on the team while playing in over 1500 minutes.
Caceres was one of nine outfield players to play over 1,000 minutes in the campaign, starting 17 games and playing in all 20 as a defensive midfielder while meeting the high academic standards of the award as a graduating senior with a major in Business Management.
Long Beach State's third honoree, Sara Ybarra was a key reserve for the program, playing in all 20 games across multiple position and starting in four, contributing a goal and two assists during the year. A junior academically, Ybarra is majoring in Biology.
To be considered for the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher while meeting very high participation standards for their respective sports; women's soccer is the first sport to be recognized in the 2023-24 calendar year for the program.
