LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State hit .311 in a sweep [25-22, 25-16, 25-18] over CSUN on Friday night at the Walter Pyramid as the Beach extended its winning streak to seven matches.

With the straight-set victory, the Beach have now won six-straight sweeps at home as they improve to 17-6 overall and 11-2 in Big West action.

Long Beach State led CSUN (5-19, 3-10 Big West) in all statistical categories as it cruised to its 10th sweep of the season.

Redshirt sophomore setter Zayna Meyer has now piloted LBSU to nine matches in which they have hit .300 or higher. When hitting over .300, the Beach is a perfect 9-0 on the year. Today, Meyer did a good job distributing the ball around as four different hitters scored five or more kills. Meyer would finish the match with 29 assists, while adding five digs, three kills, and two aces.

Leading the offense for Long Beach were Katie Kennedy and Elise Agi who each tallied 10 kills. Kennedy hit .562 (10-1-16) as she recorded her fifth-straight match with double-digit kills. She also added three blocks and one dig. Agi, meanwhile, contributed five digs, three assists, two blocks, and one ace in another all-around effort.

Freshman outside hitter Livi Narancich made her collegiate debut and finished with nine kills on a .389 attack percentage (9-2-18). She also added six digs and one block assist as the San Marcos, Calif., native made the most of her first-career start.

Kameron Bacon was efficient on both sides of the ball as she concluded the match leading the Beach with four blocks, while also recording five kills on a .625 clip (5-0-8).

Libero Savan Chacon anchored the backrow with nine digs, while also adding three assists, and an ace.

The match started out close with both teams going back and forth early on in the first set. However, the Matadors used two 3-0 runs to take a 14-9 lead over the Beach. Long Beach State battled back and scored four-straight points to even the set at 15-all. From there, LBSU went on a 3-0 run to take an 18-16 advantage over CSUN. The Beach would hold that lead for the remainder of the set, winning 25-22.

CSUN opened the second set with a quick 3-0 edge over Long Beach. The Matadors jumped out in front, 7-2. As the Beach called a timeout. The break in action allowed LBSU to regroup and get back in the game as they came out and went on a 6-1 run and cutting CSUN's lead down to one (9-8). The Beach continued to surge as they took a two-point lead highlighted by a key dig from Nicole Hoff that she passed off to Agi for the kill.

LBSU took a five-point (19-14) advantage over CSUN and extended their lead to six (22-16) on an ace from Hanna Lesiak. Lesiak's solid serving helped the Beach close the second set on a 5-0 highlighted by a pair of aces from the Frankfort, Ill., native, as Long Beach State cruised to a 25-16 win.

Leading the match 2-0, Long Beach State was quick to jump ahead of CSUN, 5-2 in the third set. The Matadors, however, wouldn't go away quietly as they used a 4-0 to go up 6-5 over the Beach. LBSU countered with a 5-0 that would give them back the lead (14-10), before holding a 15-11 edge at the media timeout.

The Beach extended their lead to six (19-13) as CSUN called for a timeout. The Matadors chipped away at Long Beach State's lead, whittling it down to three (20-17). That was as close as CSUN would get as LBSU jumped back out in front by six (23-17) on their way to earning a 25-18 victory.

CSUN hit .070 in the match and didn't have a single hitter in double-digits. Perri Starkey led the team with nine kills, but hit just .032 in the contest.
