Friday is the second time the teams run at Cal Poly's new course this season.
The Women's team has had an outstanding season, with multiple athletes contributing to the program's success. Junior Allie Scimia has led the team all season, coming in the Top 15 at every race. Leia Jones, another seasoned runner for the team, aided in their success with her performance in each race. Newcomers Marikay Schwab and Louise Stonham also improved significantly this season to smash PRs and aid the team in their first win since 2011 at the Highlander Invitational earlier this month.
The Men's team has been consistent all season with a great mix of seasoned and new runners for the Beach. Junior transfer Mario Tavares impressed in his first race with the team by earning a spot in the Top 10 at the Big West Preview. He has continued his success in the team's other races along with Quinn Garity, who been a strong competitor for the team in his senior year. Garity was a consistent force for them all season long, and peaked as he was the top finisher for the Beach at the Highlander Invitational and earned a spot in the program's All Time Top 10.
