The Beach Is Back In Action At The Highlander Invitational

Long Beach will head back to UC Riverside to compete this Saturday.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After nearly a month off from competition, the Beach will be heading back to UC Riverside to compete in the Highlander Invitational this Saturday, October 14th. The Men's 8k will begin at 8 a.m. and the Women's 6k will begin shortly after at 8:40 a.m.
The last time the team was at the UCR Ag/Ops Course was for the UC Riverside Invitational in the middle of September that saw the women's team place second and the men's team place ninth. Junior Allie Scimia was the top finisher for the women once again with a time of 20:36.0. This earned her 12th place out of 172 competitors in the race. Mario Tavares also continued to lead the men's team with a stellar performance that earned him a new PR of 24.20.1. He finished within the top 30 runners out of a group of 216.
