
Jack Cantlay is Tied for First as the Second Round is Suspended Due to Darkness at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate

Long Beach State sits in fifth place heading into the final day of competition
TUCSON, Ariz. – The first two rounds of the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate were set to be completed on day one, until round two was paused due to darkness. At the time the second round was called, Long Beach State sat in fifth place at 12-under par, while freshman Jack Cantlay is tied for first on the leaderboard with 10-under par through 30 holes.
The Beach are currently 14 strokes behind first place No. 11 Texas A&M as the Aggies are 26-under par.
Cantlay is in a four-way tie with Chaz Aurilia and Cal McCoy of Arizona, as well as Zac Jones of BYU. He shot a 69 for round one and was 7-under through 12 holes of round two.
Not far behind Cantlay is sophomore teammate Ian Gilligan, who holds seventh place at 7-under par. Gilligan is 5-under par for round two through 14 holes.
Senior Isaac Rodea finished round one even with par and was shooting 2-over par before his play was halted.
Freshman Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa sits at 5-over on the tournament, while freshman Ivan Barahona is currently at 6-over before play was stopped.
Round two is set to be resumed tomorrow at 8 a.m. before the final round.
