Angelina Kim, Kristina Ponomareva Named WGCA All-American Scholars

The WGCA has one of the highest minimum GPA requirements for academic recognition.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf had two student-athletes named as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, announced Tuesday.
The WGCA All-American Scholar award is given to women's collegiate golfers who have maintained a cumulative GPA over 3.50, one of the highest cutoffs for similar awards within collegiate athletics.
True freshman Kristina Ponomareva was honored after carrying a perfect 4.00 GPA as an Applied Mathematics major, while sophomore Angelina Kim garnered her second All-American Scholar nod with a 3.80 GPA in Business Marketing.
