Beach Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

For the second consecutive year, the Long Beach State Beach Vollleyball team has received the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State beach volleyball has received the Team Academic Award from United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the the 2021-22 season.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
The Beach accumulated a team GPA of 3.58 for the 2021-22 academic year and have earned this honor for the second consecutive time.
The beach volleyball program and all of Long Beach State athletics continued their excellence in the classroom totaling 74 student-athletes on the Big West All-Academic Team, eight of which came from the beach volleyball team.
