Long Beach State Men’s Golf Set for Wyoming Cowboy Classic

The Beach will tee off at the Cattail Course at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz. on Monday, April 4
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State Men's Golf team hits the road to Chandler, Ariz., to partake in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday, April 4 and Tuesday, April 5 at the Cattail Course at Whirlwind Golf Club.
The two-day tournament has the first and second rounds scheduled for Monday, with the final round taking place on Tuesday at the Par 72, 7,334-yard course.
The University of Wyoming hosts the annual event which features a field of 25 teams, including seven teams ranked among the Top 75 in the country. In addition to Long Beach State and Wyoming, the tournament will feature Cal State Fullerton, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Iowa State, No. 19 Kansas, No. 71 Loyola Marymount, No. 38 Nevada, New Mexico State, No. 59 San Diego, No. 72 San Diego State, Southern Utah, No. 68 TCU, No. 53 UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UNC Wilmington, UNLV, Utah State, Utah Valley, UTSA, and Weber State.
Long Beach State will send their lineup of freshman Ian Gilligan, senior Tyler Schafer, senior Jack Ainscough, redshirt junior Bryce Kvick, and sophomore Isaac Rodea to the green. The Beach are coming off of a 17 out of 28 team showing at The Goodwin at the end of March. Gilligan, who led the Beach at The Goodwin with a Top 10 finish after shooting 70-66-67 for 7-under par, looks to continue to build on his strong performance this week at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
