LBSU Men’s Golf Announces the Signing of Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa

Chopraa will begin his Long Beach State career in the Fall of 2022

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Men's Golf Head Coach Michael Wilson announced the signing of highly-touted international player Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa who will be joining the Beach as a freshman in the Fall. Chopraa will join the already talented recruiting class of Ivan Barahoma, Jack Cantlay, and Jaden Huggins which was announced last November.
"We are very excited to welcome Krishnav to the Long Beach State Golf family," Wilson said. "During my time getting to know Krishnav and his family during the recruiting process, I was struck by his determination, passion for the game, and maturity. He is a strong player with plenty of speed and can putt too. We are looking forward to having him on campus this fall and watching his career here unfold."
Chopraa, a native of New Delhi, India, already has an impressive resume. Earlier this year, he won the Delhi State NCR Cup with firing a 69-76-69-72. He also placed first in the 2022 AJGA College Station with a 69-71 showing, and won the Amateur Links Championship with a 71-73-74.
Additionally, he earned a second place finish at the IGU All-India Junior Championship with a 78-68-68-72 performance, and placed runner up at the Eastern India Junior Championship shooting 70-69-74-69.
Chopraa had a solid showing at the RBG Champions World Series of The North as he finished with a 75-74-76 to place fourth. He also turned in a Top 10 performance at the prestigious 2022 Dustin Johnston Junior Invitational after firing a 72-72-71. He also shot 73-68-73-67 at the Pune Open Professional Championship en route to placing 26th.
Currently ranked second in India at the Junior Division, Chopraa is the son of former India cricketer Nikhil Chopraa.
