Coleman Named Big West Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Sebastian Coleman has earned his second weekly honor this season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Sebastian Coleman has been named the Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. The conference office announced the news on Tuesday.
The junior posted three top-three finishes and a pair of all-time top ten marks in program history.
His throw of 58.47m (191-10) in the Discus gave him the victory and moved him into seventh on Long Beach State's all-time list surpassing Nicholas Hudson's mark during the 2019 season. He also moved into seventh all-time in Hammer with a mark of 64.98m (213-2). He ended the weekend with a third place finish in Shot Put, posting a throw of 15.49m (50-10).
He currently ranks seventh in the NCAA in Discus and 14th in Hammer, both of which are tops in the Big West.
Coleman joins teammate Jason Smith as the only Beach athletes to win multiple weekly honors in a season over the last 5 years.
