In the program’s first season with lights, Long Beach State will welcome many of the best programs in the country to the LBSU Softball Complex.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Playing under the lights for the first time at home, Kim Sowder and Long Beach State Softball have assembled a schedule fitting the excitement of the occasion, with 26 home games and two tournaments making full use of the facility.
The new lights, installed this fall, will allow for new times for games as well growing attendance and helping recruiting as well as allowing the team to bid for NCAA postseason competition.
The first action under the lights will come on Wednesday, February 15, as the Beach hosts San Diego for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. which will run through sunset and into the night. The following weekend, the Beach will host the first of two tournaments, welcoming Cal and Louisiana-Monroe in addition to a number of other programs starting on February 17.
