Men's Participants: Alex Kalmar, Connor Phillips, Ryan Hernandez, Michael Phillips, Quinn Garity, Cameron Gill, Antonio Carbajal, Mario Tavares, Jay Brown

The course is deceptive, appearing flat, fast and easy at first, but with a large difference in elevation from one end of the course to the other. The west end, at about the 1.5 mile mark, is 100 feet lower than the start/finish area, and runners tend to go out fast only to find the return home challenging.

The Beach had a historic outing at UC Riverside earlier this season where Ryley Fick and Allie Scimia both beat the 11-year old school record with Fick winning the event. In the following meet, Scimia beat the record once again becoming the first LBSU woman to run a sub-20 minute 6K. The duo has finished in the top ten of every meet they have competed in this year.

On the men's side, Michael Phillips has been the headliner. At the Bronco Invitational, the senior was the top collegiate finisher with a new school record in the men's 8K. Similarly, he has also finished top ten in every meet this season.

Not to be forgotten, Alex Kalmar and Quinn Garity had tremendous races last time out as each of them entered the Long Beach State all-time top ten at the Bronco Invitational. Kalmar's 24:24.6 is ninth fastest while Garity's 24:25.2 is tied for tenth.

At last year's Big West Championships, the men's team finished fifth in the team standings and the women's team finished sixth. It was the men's best finish since 2018 and the women's best since 2017. Individually, Michael Phillips was the top performer becoming the third All-Big West selection under Head Coach Shawn Winget's tenure.
