Cross Country to Compete at Titan Invite on Friday

The Titan Invite is the final meet of the season before the Big West Championships next week.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State Cross Country team will head to Cal State Fullerton on Friday for the Titan Invite. It represents the final meet leading up to The Big West Championships next weekend.

Invitational Times: Women's 5K at 5 p.m. | Men's 8K at 5:35 p.m.

Both races will be ran on the Fullerton campus course that begins and ends on their campus track. It consists of multiple loops around the grass recreation fields and the asphalt and concrete pathways around the CSF Sports Complex.
Long Beach State has had a school record broken in each of their last two meets. Last week, Michael Phillips set a new program best with a time of 23:32.5 in the men's 8K. It broke Heath Reedy's mark that stood untouched for 11 years. On the women's side, Allie Scimia became the first in school history with a sub-20 minute time in the women's 6K setting a new LBSU record of 19:45.3 to beat teammate Ryley Fick's time set at the previous meet.
Friday night's races will be the final tune-up as the Beach readies for the The Big West Championships on October 29.
